The PlayStation game is notable for being the last mega-seller in the console's history, being the only console version of the Philosopher's Stone games.

Depending on the platform, other events from the original story may or may not be included. The Stations of the Canon come into play as you rescue Neville's Remembrall from Draco Malfoy, save Hermione from the mountain troll, and ultimately, stop Lord Voldemort from capturing the titular rock. Gameplay consists of a series of linear levels, punctuated by learning new spells from the teachers. But in general, Harry is the only Player Character, and all or most of the game takes place at Hogwarts, with the early part of the story getting quickly skimmed over. If I have more success, or tips and tricks, I will update here, and/or on the PCGamingWiki page for the game.As was the norm at the time, the versions released on different platforms are essentially different games. I bought a triple pack off eBay and this is the only game of the three I've fiddled with. It's not what I'd call a "fix", but it might be enough for you to enjoy the game, the logical (and drastic) solution is to reinstall Windows7/XP to a real machine and play via that. That could be a VM issue, or it could be some odd quirk of the game on Windows 7. My install also refused to save any video settings, which now I come to think of it, makes me wonder if it would actually save games, so there's that to be aware of also. Not yet tried with a DInput compatible controller. Considering the vintage of the game, this could be an issue with the version of the Unreal engine it uses. Although I got my Wireless X360 controller recognised in the Win7 VM control panel, the game didn't recognise it.My options were 640 and 800 4:3 windowed resolutions. This might be a current limitation of the VM I used ( VirtualBox). I couldn't get the game running in fullscreen in the VM.You'll need a decent parent machine to account for the VM overhead. This isn't great news, but the only "fix" I've found thus far, is to run the game in a Windows 7 VM (or earlier WinOS if you like/feel like it.) While this gets the game up and running, it has some issues:
